My Story
After more than 30 years in the electrical industry, I’ve worked as an apprentice, journeyperson, contractor, Master Electrician, previous college professor, and Training Specialist.
Throughout that journey, I noticed the same problem over and over, Future electricians weren’t failing because they lacked ability they were failing because nobody gave them a clear roadmap.That’s why I created the ilearntricity academy.
The Industry Is Telling Us the Same Thing
Future electricians need more than training they need a clear pathway into the trade.
A recent CBC News article highlighted a challenge many aspiring electricians face: completing training does not automatically lead to an apprenticeship opportunity. Many people still struggle to connect with employers and navigate the path into the trade.
That reinforces why I created ilearntricity, not to promise employment, but to help learners better understand the apprenticeship journey, build practical knowledge, and prepare themselves for opportunities as they arise.
